The center-back position will likely be atop Paris Saint-Germain’s to-do list to improve the team for the 2024-25 season. One of the targets that the Parisians are eyeing is LOSC Lille Leny Yoro, but PSG aren’t putting all their eggs in that basket.

PSG are likely considering other central defenders as backup plans since they face competition from Real Madrid. However, Yoro may also extend his contract with Lille, as his current deal expires in 2025.

As a result, both teams could miss out on Yoro this summer, and if they have to look elsewhere, they could be eyeing the same player. According to Récord (h/t Bernabéu Digital), Real Madrid and PSG are interested in SL Benfica player Antonio Silva.

Furthermore, Manchester United are also in the mix for the young defender, and with all these three teams reportedly involved, Benfica will want to squeeze the most out of an asking price.

The report notes that PSG would prepare a multi-million dollar investment in this reconstruction process, knowing that Kylian Mbappé will eventually arrive at Real Madrid this summer.

For this reason, the Parisian team could pay the termination clause of €100 million to get Silva, although they could try to get him for a slightly lower figure. It will be interesting to see how this saga plays out and whether the capital club must pay a figure close to the release clause.
