Jacksonville Jaguars sign edge rusher Josh Allen to five-year, $150 million contract with $88 million guaranteed

The Jacksonville Jaguars have upset their fan base this offseason when it looked like they were going to make their franchise player, one of the greatest defensive players in the league, play on the franchise tag.

Now, all of that has changed, as they give the fans the answers they need.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jaguars have agreed to extend edge rusher Josh Allen and give him a five-year, $150 million contract, including $88 million guaranteed.

This makes Allen the third highest-paid defender in the league per year, behind only San Francisco 49ers' Nick Bosa and the Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones.

Allen posted 17.5 sacks last season, and it only seemed like he was getting better every year, so this deal was a bit of a no-brainer. The conversations had to have come down to what the money was or how long-term the deal was.

Either way, I'm sure Jaguars fans are happy now.
