Frank Gore reacts to son signing with Bills

Frank Gore is one of the best running backs in NFL history. Gore ranks third in NFL history with 3,735 carries and 16,000 rushing yards. And now his son Frank Gore Jr. is also headed to the pros.

The Buffalo Bills signed Southern Miss running back Frank Gore Jr. as an undrafted free agent.

Gore is happy his son landed in Buffalo, but also has a chip on his shoulder because so many teams passed on him.

"Folks slept on my son; they slept on me, too -- they'll see," Gore said via CBS Sports Josina Anderson. "My bloodline is for real. Our (predraft) testing was identical. All the scouts were like you can tell that's my son. I (expletive) with (Brandon) Beane. He's the real deal. I'm happy to get my son to this point. We're coming to play."

Gore Jr. rushed for 4,022 yards and 26 touchdowns at Southern Miss and has excellent change-of-direction skills and surprising physicality for someone who's 5-foot-8 and 201 pounds.

Gore made a guarantee about the type of player the Bills are getting with his son and doesn't seem too concerned he wasn't drafted. Gore's happy Gore Jr. will be playing for a franchise he played for in 2019. Familiarity and comfort are already there.

"Buffalo got a dog; I promise you that," Gore said. "I don't give a (expletive) about a draft pick. We're about to party and do our thing."

With the addition of Gore Jr. as a UDFA and drafting Kentucky running back Ray Davis in the fourth round the Bills backfield is now loaded. James Cook is locked in as Buffalo's RB1, and they also return Ty Johnson. Heading into the draft the running back position was still a question mark for the Bills in terms of depth, and now they have more than enough ball carriers to have a formidable rushing attack and a more balanced offense overall next season.
